Manufacturing Month Events Encourage Student Interest, Investment in NE

Governor, DED Director Promote industry’s role in workforce development. Today, Governor Pete Ricketts continued to promote Manufacturing Month by visiting two businesses in central Nebraska. The Governor’s tour of Becton Dickinson in Holdrege and Royal Engineered Composites in Minden followed a 10-community tour this month to celebrate businesses within the industry. Department of Economic Development (DED) Director Courtney Dentlinger and State Chamber President Barry Kennedy joined the Governor on tours of several businesses during the first week of October.

Gov. Ricketts Concludes his Manufacturing Tour of Nebraska

Today, Governor Pete Ricketts and Lt. Governor Mike Foley concluded a week-long tour of statewide businesses to kickoff Nebraska Manufacturing Month in October and celebrate National Manufacturing Day on October 6, 2017. This year, business leaders are focusing on opportunities to expose young people to developments in the industry through company tours for students and educators.

Gov. Ricketts Applauds Investment from Ontario-Based Agri-Plastics in Sidney

Today, Governor Pete Ricketts applauded plans from Ontario-based Agri-Plastics to invest in Sidney and hire Nebraskans. Corporate leaders expect the company’s first American production facility to begin operations by early 2018, which will enhance production efforts at Agri-Plastics’ two full-capacity plants in Canada. Established in 1995, the company manufactures calf hutches and plastic products to support North America’s dairy industry. Agri-Plastics plans to hire more than 20 employees next month in the Sidney location for manufacturing and production jobs.

Gov. Ricketts, State Chamber to Celebrate Manufacturing Month in Nebraska

LINCOLN – Today, Governor Pete Ricketts proclaimed October as “Manufacturing Month” and announced a statewide tour in celebration of Nebraska’s second largest industry.  At the ceremony, Governor Ricketts was joined by Department of Economic Development Director Courtney Dentlinger, the Nebraska Chamber of Commerce, and the Nebraska Manufacturing Advisory Council.
